The fight for the WBA bantamweight title was a draw, and Antonio Vargas retained his champion belt.
In December 2025, WBA declared Vargas champion in recess after he was unable to take part in the unification fight due to the death of his mother, and Seiya Tsutsumi was reinstated as champion
The fight was a draw and Seiya Tsutsume retained the WBA bantamweight title. Later, WBA officially designated Tsutsumi as “Champion in Recess” following a thorough review of his documented medical condition. As a result, interim titleholder Antonio Vargas has been elevated to full WBA world bantamweight champion.
